The first episode with my father, Derek Bell.

I knew I had to launch Life.With Legends with my dad as the first guest for so many reasons.

Without doubt he embodies all the qualities a racing hero should have. Strong, fearless, successful and a winner.

But there is so much more to my father. He is absolutely the most lovely man I have ever met. Kind, generous and supportive and an amazing father to my sister and I.

I have sat and listened to his stories of racing, times spent with incredible men and women (some no longer with us) and I haev felt a kind of urgency to get these memories down on record.

I also have taken many (what I think anyway) pretty good portraits of Dad over the years, but I wanted this one to be special.

Very kindly Kevin Jeanette (Gunnar Racing) allowed us to do teh interview and subsequent portraits right alongside the iconic Porsche 962 that won more races than any other car of its type in the 80’s.

As soon as I decided to create this series I knew who my first episode should be with; as my father Derek is an absolute legend of a man.

5 times winner of the epic Le Mans 24 Hour race and a Two time World Sportscar Champion, he is a man that lived through the most dangerous era of motorsports and dominated racing as team mate to some of the others stars of the sport.

Like all my interviews I had no plan for this one, but with a lifetime of amazing memories and stories I knew that this had to be recorded for us all to enjoy. From friendships with Enzo Ferrari to getting me started in the sport, we covered a lot of ground!

Most importantly, I have an extraordinary relationship with Dad and he has been an amazing role model for me, not only as a race car driver but as a man. I am beyond proud of him.

Our great friend Kevin Jeanette at Gunnar Racing let us hangout for a couple of hours and talk, but as I hope you agree, we barely scratched the surface and so if its ok with you, we will have to do a part II at some point!
