Alain was a huge influence in my love of photography, in so many ways.

We shared a passion for it and his enthusiasm (even when probably not warranted by my work) for what I was doing, really motivated me to do more and get better at my craft.

He had such a knowledge about cameras, and we both loved Leica, which was so fun as he would tell me stories of his career as a professional in swinging London!

When I told him I wanted to take a real portrait of him, it seemed natural to use his beloved 356 Porsche as the backdrop. We had such fun and he looked so vibrant that day, even though the grim specter of Cancer was edging its way into his life.

I will always cherish my friendship with this amazing man, and the lessons he gave me.

I never got them signed, but he did love the copy of this print that I gave him, so you know it got his approval!
