Without sounding morbid, one of the motivating reasons behind me starting Life with Legend was to have conversations with my heroes before it was too late.

Which makes the opportunity to sit down with the legendary racer Parnelli Jones at his home in Palos Verdes, one of my life greatest moments.

While his body may be showing the wear and tear of a life lived at speed, his mind is still brilliant and his passion and strength still resonates with each word. Even though quietly delivered.

I didn’t video the conversation like I normally do out of respect for PJ, but he was very keen we do a nice portrait.

The one I finally settled on was just a close up of his hands holding the Indy 500 trophy which seems the perfect way to pay homage to him.

He has signed all 24 prints which is remarkable and according to my friend Mike Follmer (who set up everything and sat with him at the signing) he loved this image. Which makes me feel pretty good.

Truly a unique opportunity to own something touched by greatness. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
